Fordham Grinch Game Highlights

The Grinch Games

Liam Perry won the Sophomore Boys 55 Meter Hurdles with a time of 9.20.

Dylan Schuck finished 2nd in the Varsity Boys 55 Meter hurdles. J. Davin ran 10:30 and finished in 10th in the same race.

In the Varsity boys 1600 Meter Run, Eric DiNome ran 5:08 to place 10th, Alex Cecere ran 5:22 to finish 15th, and Brendan Page crossed the line 21st with a time of 5:34. Zach Cecere ran 5:48 in the Sophomore Boys 1600 Meter Run to finish in 18th place.

In the 600 Meter Run, for the JFK boys, Fusco finished 10th. His time was 1:38.50. Eric DiNome placed 14th with a time of 1:42.80. Dan Calapai ran 1:43.70 for 17th place.

In the Varsity Boys 300 Meter Run, Liam Perry ran 40.90 for the Gaels to finish 14th. In the Junior Year Boys 300 Meters, Zachary Furman ran 42.10, which was good for 8th place. Empson ran 45.10 to finish 16th. John Davin ran 43.40 to place 5th in the Freshman Boys 300 Meter Dash. A 48.10 time and 28th place finish was recorded for Empson in the same race.

JFK Sprinters ran 2 teams in the 4 x 200 Relays. JFK’s Team A ran 143.50 for a fifth place finish. JFK’s Team B ran 1:48.80 to place 10th.

In the Sophomore Boys Shot Put, Andrew Rodriguez threw 23-5.5 for a 20th place finish.

Emily Mittlestadt ran 2:00.90 to take 10th place in the Freshman Girls 600 Meter Run. Katie Mittlestadt ran 2:01.10 and came in 15th in the Varsity Girls 600 Meter Run.

Danielle Asaro ran 45.60 in the 300 Meter Run to finish in 5th place. Kathryn Ahearn ran 55.20 to finish 17th and Emily Mittlestadt ran 58.90 to come in the 24th spot.

Moria Tolan ran 50.10 in the Sophomore Girls 300 Meter Dash for 9th place.

Kathryn Ahearn ran a 1:05.50 in the Freshman Girls 300 to take 16th place.

In the Varsity Girls 4 x 200 Meter Relays, the JFK Catholic team ran 2:13.10 to finish in 11th place.

Regarding team scoring, JFK Varsity boys finished ahead of Fordham Prep, Stepinac, Kellenberg and St. Raymond’s. JFK Sophomore boys finished ahead of Bishop Loughlin, All Hallows, Bronxville, Lehman, and Stepinac.

North County News, Roy Arnesen: Rockland - Kennedy Catholic's Liam Perry - Third Place Finish - Mike Campobasso - Second - High Jump

Kennedy Catholic's Liam Perry recorded a distance of 18-5 in the long jump for a third place finish. Teammate Mike Campobasso also jumped well, placing second in the high jump with a height of 5-8.

Further scrutiny of results by JFK Stat Analyzer @ Armory Track Rockland Stats shows that:

Michael Campobasso ran 8.6 to win the 55 Meter Hurdles. Congrats Michael!

Martin Durkin ran 1:55.80 to place 33rd in the 600 Meters.

In the Varsity boys distance races, Zach Cecere finished 23rd in the 3200 Meter Run with a time of 12:31.60. He also ran 5:55.80 in the 1600 Meter Run, to finish in 46th place.

In the Varsity Boys Long Jump, John Davin jumped 16-10.5 to finish 9th. Ryan Epsom recorded a jump of 14-6.5 to place 23rd.err

Liam Perry's 4-10 high jump was good for a tie for sixth.

Andrew Rodriguez pole vaulted 32-11.25 and finished 9th in the competition of 57 vaulters.

In the Varsity Girls 4x200 Meter Relays, the JFK girls ran 2:10.40 to finish 9th.

North County News, Roy Arnesen: Winter Track... Michael Campbasso... fifth... Jessica Kendzor... second

Boys

Michael Campobasso of Kennedy Catholic placed 5th in the 55 meter hurdles in a time of 8.61. Campobasso also cleared 5-3 in the high jump for 11th. Jesse Aprile placed 10th in the 55-meter dash and came back to place 6th in the triple jump at 40-2 ¼. Dylan Schuck leaped 18-5 ½ in the long jump to place sixth and Liam Perry finished seventh at 18-4 ¾.

Girls

Jessica Kendzor of Kennedy Catholic placed second (3:06.5) in the 1,000 meter run to Bronxville’s Meredith Rizzo, missing the win by just .2 seconds. Kendzor came back in the 1,500 to place third at 5:10.3. Danielle Asaro finished fifth in the 300 in a time of 44.79.

Track Teams Kick-Off the Winter Season at the Armory

At the Armory Kick-off, Jessica Kendzor ran 3:06 and finished second in the 1000 Meters. Approximately 1 hour later, she ran a 5:10 in the 1500 Meters to place 3rd. Danielle Asaro finished 5th in the 300 Meters with a time of 44.79.

For the boys, Michael Campobasso ran 8.61 to finish 5th in the 55 Meter hurdles. Dylan Schuck jumped 18-5 to place 6th and Liam Perry followed at 7th in the Long Jump with a jump of 18-4.75. Jesse Aprile was 6th in the Triple Jump with a jump of 40-2.25.

The boys 4 x 800 team ran an exciting race that had the Kennedy fans on their feet. Eric DiNome, Alex Cecere, Brendan Page, and Dan Calapai battled their way to a 4th place finish in their heat.

North County News, Roy Arnesen: Winter Track and Field Preview

The Starting Gun Sounds in the North County

Boys

Kennedy Catholic - Key Returnees are Jesse Aprile, Michael Campobasso, Alex Cecere, Liam Perry, and Dylan Schuck.

Key newcomers are John Davin, Eric DiNome and Zach Furman.

The Gaels will be very strong in the field events and sprints, led by Schuck, Aprile, and Campobasso.

Girls

Key returnees are Danielle Asaro, Sarah DiNome, Kelly Ford, Doran Hastings, Jessica Kendzor, Breeda Mannion, April Mante, and Katie Middlestadt.

Key newcomers are Kathryn Ahearn, Doran Hastings, Cat Kastberg, and Moira Tolan.

Kendzor will be one of the best middle distance runners in the section and will be in the mix to qualify for states in the 1,500.

JFK Track Stars Brave the Elements & Warm Up for Winter Track at the Big Chill

Jessica Kendzor was 1st in the 1500 Meters and JFK's 4 x 400 Meter Relay Team (Asaro, Katsberg, Tolan, and Kendzor) won the last event of the day in the rain, snow, and cold of the Big Chill at Yorktown. Jessie Aprile placed second in the 55 Meter run. Dylan Schuck and Liam Perry finished 2nd in the High Jump Relay. The JFK boys finished 3rd in the Shuttle Hurdle Relay (According to Coach Elliott, Jason Devin was especially impressive), the 800 Meter Relay, and the Sprint Medley Relay. Katie Middlestadt placed third in the 1500 Meter walk. The girls' distance medley relay captured 3rd. Danielle Asaro placed 4th in the 600 Meter run. The JFK girls' Shuttle Hurdle Relay and Shot Put Relay finished 5th. See below for the results taken from TJN.
