Approximately 20 Kennedy boy and girl athletes from JFK's Winter Track Team traveled to Rockland County Community College for the Rockland Coaches' Section 1 Invitational. Jessie Kendzor and Jessie Aprile garnered points for the Gaels to help rank the boys’ team and the girls’ team among the top 25 schools in Section 1. There are approximately 75 schools in the Section. The events were packed with strong competition. Many schools were unable to score points because points were awarded only to the winners of the top 6 places in each competition, regardless of the class or size of the schools in our Section.
Jesse Aprile sprinted in 2 blazing fast 55 meter dashes. He qualified, finished 5th, and medaled in the event at the track at the Rockland Community College. RaceTab 2.0 by MileSplit.com recorded his time in the finals as 7.2 seconds.
Jessica Kendzor earned a 4th place plaque & achieved National Elite Status in the 1000 Yard Run at RCC. Jessica ran 2:47.6 in the 1000 yard event. She had qualified as one of 8 runners chosen to run in a special heat in this race of elite status runners from Section 1.
Dylan Schuck leaped to a 16th Place Finish in the Triple Jump. Dylan landed at the 37-05.00 mark in the Triple Jump competition.
Go Gaels. We are proud of the entire team.
